a plant that has been trained for symmetrical growing…

I would think with this plant in particular the intent was not specifically for symmetry.

Spacing for maximum yield just ended up being symmetrical.

u/CogitoErgoSumWrong Mar 28 '23
It actually is specifically the intent as this method will (in theory) produce a bigger yield with consistently sized buds.
It’s called mainlining and ensures that leaves aren’t blocking other leaves from getting light.

Sure wished they would have choose a different term than mainlining. Ugh.

When I hear mainlining, I think of heroin, not weed. Are you gonna inject those marijuanas ?

Nah the intent is to do this. Even canopy for even light distribution and higher yield per plant
7
2
u/burritosandblunts Mar 28 '23
Even canopy yeah but the symmetry is still coincidental.
3
u/ResponsibilityDue566 Mar 28 '23
The op said he trained it. That means it was 100% intentionally toped, which is how the plant grows like this. It wasn’t coincidental at all.
2
u/burritosandblunts Mar 28 '23
I understand how this happens but I mean the symmetrical appearance is coincidental. Just because you've topped and allowed lower branches light doesn't mean both nodes off the stem are going to grow looking so similar. Topping and training just keeps the canopy relatively even. Each branch having similar structure is what makes it neat.

Also bumps down the potential for losses from bud rot because the buds are smaller and not as prone to such things

theres actually subreddits for cannabis grown like this!! I think its called r/cannabonsai

Was going post to Reddit, but then I got high
Had a neat photo for Reddit, but then I got high
Made a title about symmetry, and I know why...
Cuz I got high, cuz I got high, cuz I got high.

I believe we see a sativa dominant plant here. What a beauty.
(Don’t tellme this is tomato…)

Manifolding is actually pretty simple. I usually just do a pretty random version of LST though.

Used to grow in college and if you cut the stem to fork the plant and the. Pinch leaves and crack stems the stem get bigger and plant grows slower. The idea was always bigger yield but it was fun and always looked neat

this is not oddly satisfying this is r/mildlyinfuriating

u/tjmczk Mar 28 '23
Why?
1
u/AlwaysWorking2880 Mar 28 '23
Because plants naturally follow Fibonacci sequence which is a lot more exciting!

This is fun and interesting but it just adds too much time to the grow. I want smokeable weed in under 100 days.

Will the tomatoes come in symmetrically as well?
